Ellanse is a sterile, latex free, non-pyrogenic, totally bioreabsorbable, non-permanent implant whose principle component is synthetic Poly-E-Caprolacton (PCL) microspheres suspended in a carrier gel.
PCL is a well known totally bio-reabsorbable soft polymer that stimulate connective tissue regrowth. Ellanse gives a longer lasting result than hyaluronic acid products and can be used once a patient is comfortable with the result from HA dermal fillers. In the first 4 weeks following a treatment the product injected gives the desired volumisation, thereafter the body starts to produce connective tissue such as collagen which gives long lasting results.
You should not receive an Ellanse treatment if any of the following applies: history of severe allergic reactions, acute skin inflammation, history of keloid scarring, if you are undergoing cortisone or steroid treatment, history of auto-immune conditions, if you have any permanent implants in the face, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to conceive.
