PowerFill PLA Dermal Filler Injectable Poly-Lactic Acid Dermal Filler
PowerFill is an innovative development of the South Korean laboratory Regen Biotech. This is a conceptually new filler, which uses globular particles of polylactic acid (PLA). Its main difference is the stimulation of neocollagenesis. The effect of the PowerFill filler lasts from two to five years. At the same time, the filler itself resolves within one and a half to two years, creating a strong collagen matrix. The material from which the filler is made is absolutely safe and hypoallergenic.

2. What is PLA?
PLA(Poly-Lactic Acid, Polylactide) is an aliphatic thermoplastic polymer derived from 100% renewable resources, such as corn and potato starch.
Through polymerization, PLA results in Poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) and Poly (D-lactic acid) (PDLA). Widely commercialized Polylactide in the market is PLLA. The chemical and physical properties of these PLA are completely the same. Medical substances with biodegradable PLA can be decomposed in the body after completing their function. Since no surgery needs to take out biodegradable PLA from the body, PLA prevents chronic problems or nuisance from eliminating non-degradable polymers that are left in the body after treatment.
3. Principle
The principle of PowerFill is not different from others: the drug is injected into the subcutaneous fat layer. However, Polylactic acid causes irritation and activation of fibroblasts, thereby starting the process of neocollagenesis. Collagen forms a dense skeleton, thereby increasing the volume and pulling the area of impact. In addition, Fillers based on polylactic acid are used to compensate for soft tissue deficiencies and can be a substitute for implants.
